Read information about the authorBorn in Canada, studied in Europe and the U.S.
I was for 35 years a producer with 60 Minutes at CBS, reporting around the world on everything from the fall of the Soviet Union to the opening of China, turmoil in Central America and the Middle East--saw it all. Interviewed Arafat, Khomeini,Sadat, Deng Xao Peng, and could never quite believe someone was paying me to do all that.
After leaving 60 Minutes, I produced a documentary on the Trial of Saddam Hussein which was shown around the world (but not the U.S.), then wrote a book on western intervention in Iraq from Churchill to Kennedy to George W. Bush, "Web of Deceit." Then decided to write a novel, "The Watchman's File", based partly on fact, as well as on reporting I had originally done at 60 Minutes.
I have just finished first draft of another novel, Deep Strike. It's about a rogue CIA agent out to get the information necessary to impeach a new American president-who's election was aided by Russian hacking (Fiction!).
